Introduction
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, popularly known as Reliance Jio, shook the telecom world in India when its Founder Mukesh Ambani commercially launched its most ambitious product of 21st Century, 4G (LTE) and only VoLTE services in India. On Sep 1, 2016, addressing his shareholders at Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced free introductory offer termed as “Welcome Offer” from September 5, 2016 to December 31, 2016, which brewed tariff war by disruptive tariff plans, free voice calls to any network, free national roaming and 1GB data for just Rs 50/-.

Jio 4G LTE services were first beta launched to Jio’s Partners and employees on the eve of birth anniversary of Late Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Industries Limited, RIL on 27 December 2015.
On September 5, 2016 the preview launch also later regarded as commercially launch free unlimited Data, unlimited HD voice & video calling, unlimited SMS, high-speed data and access to a host of Jio Premium Apps till December 31, 2016 under ‘Welcome Offer’ – ‘Everything is free’ for all existing and new subscribers.

Subscriber Base
Reliance Jio claimed that it has created “a world record” by crossing the 16 million subscriber mark in its first month of operations in September 2016.
Jio crossed 50 million subscribers in just 83 days, adding at an average rate of 6 lakh subscribers per day and surpassing the subscriber addition rates of global giants like Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype.

15 Feb 2017- Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani said his telecom venture Jio has crossed a customer base of 100 million.
At the end of day 31 March 2017 – Out of 100 million-plus free subscribers, nearly 72 millions have signed up for its ‘Prime’ membership by paying a one-time charge of Rs 99 and buying data packs.
Circle
Jio owns spectrum in 800 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands in 10 and 6 circles, respectively, of the total 22 circles in the country, and also owns pan-India licensed 2,300 MHz spectrum. The spectrum is valid till 2035.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio entered into a spectrum sharing deal with younger brother Anil Ambani-backed Reliance Communications. The sharing deal is for 800 MHz band across seven circles other than the 10 circles for which Jio already owns.

Jio Prime Subscription offer of Rs 99/- and Recharges can be easily done through Jio Money App, which provides a Rs 50/- cashback for each transaction of jio recharge.
After successful recharge, you will get a Rs 50/- voucher in your Jio Money A/c which can be use for further recharges. MyJio App will update the status to ‘Prime Member’.
Under Buy one get one offer, Prime Member who recharge with Rs 303/- will get an add-on worth Rs 201 free which will give 5GB of additional data. Similarly, A recharge of Rs 499 and above will fetch you a free add-on of 301 rupees with an additional 10GB of data. However, the recharge must be done before March 31st, 2017.
Jio Summer Surpise Offer – for Prime Members
“Every JIO PRIME member when they make their first paid recharge prior to 15th April using Jio’s Rs 303 plan (or any higher value plan) will get services for the initial three months on a complimentary basis. Your paid tariff plan will be applied only in July, after the expiry of the complimentary service,” Chairman Mukesh Ambani said in a letter to customers.
“Jio has created the world’s largest greenfield 4G LTE wireless broadband network, with over 100,000 mobile towers. And we will add another 100,000 towers to our network in the coming months. This greenfield investment of over Rs 200,000 crores is the largest anywhere in the world,” Ambani, who is India’s richest man, said.
